Fancy taking on one of the most adrenaline-inducing zip line challenges in the world?
A new zip line experience will ensure that the already action-packed region of Snowdonia becomes the zip line capital of the world when it opens to visitors in June.
Zip World Titan will complete the largest zip zone in the world, flying daredevils along eight kilometres of wire at up to 70 miles per hour. Thrill seeking families and friends can even take each other as four zips will be in action at one time on each of the three sections of wire.
The attraction will take zip lining to the next level when it joins the original Zip World Velocity at Penryhn Quarry, home to the longest zip line in the Northern Hemisphere with rides over 100 miles per hour.
Zip World won international acclaim last March when they installed a pair of mile long zip lines that see riders fly through the skies at over 100mph, 500ft in the air and experiencing the nearest thing to flying.
The combination of these two adventure attractions will mean families, thrill seekers and everyone in between can take on the 'mother' of all adventures, speeding down 8 kilometres of zip line through some of Britain's best scenery in just a few hours.
This will make Snowdonia the only place in the world that has two zip line attractions within a 25 mile radius. The two attractions are just a 40 minute drive from each other through breath-taking scenery.
The Zip World experience mimics the flight of the Peregrine Falcon, which is native to the area – and adventurers might just spot one of these powerful but rare birds while whizzing down the wire.
At the new Zip World Titan adventurers can take a mini bus ride to heights of 1500ft before flying down a series of three wires.
As well as offering stunning Snowdonia mountain views, Llechwedd is an area steeped in Welsh mining history.
Zip liners will get kitted up at the world famous underground Slate Caverns which offers fascinating tours 500 feet underground to discover the dangerous mining past of these mysterious 170 year old mining cavities.
Sean Taylor, co-owner, said: “Since we opened Snowdonia's first zip line last year we've been bowled over by people's need for speed.
“Perhaps it's the pressure of the recession and the need to escape our everyday routines, or simply a new zest for adventure, but we've seen 40,000 adrenaline seekers from all corners of the world pass through our doors.
“And that's included eight year olds to a 94 year old and everything in between.
“2014 will see Snowdonia become the best place in the world for a zip line adventure and we can't wait to welcome visitors to the area.”
This latest development, which has been supported by £250,000 of Welsh Government Tourism Investment Support, has been warmly welcomed by Tourism Minister Edwina Hart who visited the site recently.
Mrs Hart said: “This is an exciting new addition to the rapidly growing adventure tourism offering in Wales and I am delighted the Welsh Government is supporting the project. It promises to be another great attraction for North Wales and builds on the highly successful venture in Penrhyn Quarry with the potential to bring in more visitors from around the UK and provide a significant boost to the regional economy.”
For those wanting to take the adventure one step further, Zip World is partnered with Tree Top Adventure, which has a uniquely-designed high ropes course, the world's highest parachute simulator and Europe's highest and first 80 foot high five-seater giant swing.
The exciting tree top adventures courses are used by the British Army and Navy to challenge new recruits and corporate clients from around the UK.
Zip World Titan is due to open on 4th June 2014 and tickets cost £50 per person.
