An indigenous art exhibition featuring some of the NSW far south coasts most promising artists will feature as part of Perisher Blue Ski Resorts inaugural Spring Carnival which starts this weekend.
The Kari Yalla exhibition, which comprises contemporary arts and crafts, will be held at Snow Gums Restaurant in the Perisher Valley Hotel from Sunday, 18th September through to Sunday, 2nd October 2005.
Viewing will be between 10am and 5pm daily and everyone is invited to come along, enjoy a coffee, a meal, or just view the art on display.
Kari Yalla is an emerging cooperative for Aboriginal artists from the NSW far south coast between Batemans Bay to the Victorian border. In addition to regular exhibitions across the region, Kari Yalla provides training to Aboriginal artists, is establishing a studio space and is committed to developing a professional indigenous arts network.
Perisher Blue Ski Resort is very proud to be able to show some of their fine works during the spring carnival.
The resorts celebration of spring also includes plenty of other festivities such as a jumping castle on Front Valley, live bands, a kids flare run, movies under the stars, a magic show and a special appearance by Bob the Builder.
The resort is currently enjoying a fresh top up of snow with 20cm already falling this week. A serious of cold fronts are forecast to pass over the alpine resorts next week on an almost daily basis. Up to 5cm snow could fall each day on the mountain peaks.
