Effective February 1st, SMG has commenced management of the Albuquerque Convention Center. Philadelphia-based SMG is the world�s largest operator of convention centers, arenas, stadiums and entertainment venues. The contract is for three years with a three-year extension option.

Tom Morton has been named the General Manager of the facility. Mr. Morton has over 13 years experience in the management of public assembly facilities. His diverse experience includes: the Louisiana Superdome, the Mobile Convention Center, the San Diego County Fairgrounds, the Long Beach Convention Center, the Long Beach Arena, the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, and the Los Angeles Forum. Mr. Morton is a graduate of Tulane University�s Sports Management Program and of the IAAM�s School of Public Facility Management.

"Additionally, we are working very closely with the Greater Albuquerque and Albuquerque Hispano Chambers of Commerce and the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau to increase bookings."
