Project launched its new website with only 250 hotels in January this year, now has over 55,000 hotels available to book via RoomAuction.com. That is an impressive growth proving the new concept works for both sides – hotels and travellers.
RoomAuction.com rapidly gains popularity. There are new member hotels joining every day and there are hotels from over 160 countries already using the system. Travellers just love the idea of bidding on room rates. Hotels are taking the advantage of selling their rooms cheaper rather than leaving them empty. Wide range of accommodation and prices are available. From family run small guesthouses to 5-star luxury hotels in top destinations. Everyone can place a free, non-binding bid and find the perfect place to stay in for less.
Boleslaw Drapella, CEO of RoomAuction.com Ltd says: “Hotel room is one of very few products with only 24hrs shelf life. Once it's left unsold, it's gone forever. As a former hotel manager I believe that it is better to be flexible on rates in a clever way, rather than leave rooms empty, but at the full rate. RoomAuction.com gives the flexibility for hoteliers to approve or decline offers received, so there is no risk in taking a booking at rates not acceptable by the hotel.”
From the travellers' perspective, Boleslaw Drapella adds:
“Travellers can get great deals on their accommodation, often even lower than best rates guaranteed, since the bookings are based on private negotiation and as such are excluded from best rates guarantees.”
How exactly does it work? RoomAuction.com is a hotel-booking site allowing travellers to offer their own price for the stay. Users can no longer be embarrassed asking hotels for discounted rates. Many of the listed hotels are open to receive bids. Being lucky travellers can save up to 50%. It is also very easy to use.
1) Choose a hotel with a 'bid now' option, and see its rack rates.
2) Place your bid by filling in the short online form.
3) Tell a hotel when you are arriving and how much you are ready to pay.
4) Your offer is sent directly to the hotel. They contact you to let you know whether your offer was accepted or not. If yes, hotel confirms the booking according to their usual policy.
It is as simple as that.
