[Shanghai, 1st June 2015] As a commitment towards its growth ambitions for the Asia-Pacific region, Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH) is participating at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) for the third consecutive year to increase engagement with trade and identify new hotels that align with the SLH brand in these growing markets. 16 member hotels will be exhibiting alongside SLH.
The Asia-Pacific region is one of SLH's main areas of focus, making up a quarter of SLH's exclusive hotel collection. In the first half of 2015 alone, SLH has welcomed 16 new member hotels in the APAC region, in particular The Tokyo Station Hotel in Tokyo and The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach in Seychelles, the brand's inaugural hotels in both cities. From cultural immersions in China, idyllic retreats in Thailand and Sri Lanka, to chic city breaks in Tokyo, this pick of new hotel additions highlights the ever growing diversity and character of the SLH brand.
As the traveller becomes more informed and sophisticated in taste, SLH's member hotels are well-placed to offer guests a localised and personal experience in beautiful and culturally-rich cities. The Asia Pacific region makes up over a quarter of reservations made by SLH customers in 2015 to-date, with the top 5 APAC destinations being:
- Hong Kong
- Thailand
- Singapore
- Taiwan
- China
In particular, bookings made for Singapore (+50%) and China (+23%) hotels experienced a rise over the past 3 years, moving them from 6th and 7th ranking to 3rd and 5th respectively. Demand for independent hotels in the region has grown and SLH expects to continue their expansion in 2015, with a few key openings to be announced in the later half of the year. As the brand celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, SLH's growth strategy in the region has allowed the brand to focus on what it does best – consistently delivering exceptionally high levels of service, quality and individuality.
