Many people like the idea of an active holiday in the snow, but don't fancy racing down a black slope at breakneck speed and possibly feel too old for sledging (....if thats possible....!) at Baltic Holidays we think we have the answer.....

Baltic Holidays are pleased to launch a wonderful 6 night chalet to chalet cross country skiing adventure on the border of Finland and Russia.

The tours begins in early 2014 as the days finally start to get longer.

The journey allows skiers to see parts of the countryside right off the tourist track, travelling through the beautiful and interesting Eastern Border of Finland right onto the Russian border. This area is stunning, travelling through untouched wilderness with also a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights. 

After skiing what better way to warm up than enjoying outstanding food, made from local produce, over a campfire, staying in warm and cosy guest houses and chalets with saunas - skiers are certain to sleep well!

On average the daily ski distance is approxiamatly 20km per day, so clients need to have a reasonable level of fitness and some skiing experience.

The tour is fully inclusive of all meals and stay in a combination of guest houses and log houses with meals made from local ingredients.
This is an ideal trip for adventurous people of all ages . 
General InformationDaily skiing distances are 17 - 25 km. Approx. skiing time is 5 - 7 hours daily including breaks. Some previous experience in cross-country skiing is needed to participate in this tour.
The track is made by snowmobile
Only classical technique can be used on this tour.
Nordic skis (width approx. 44 mm) are the best choice for this tour. Skis can be waxable or nonwaxable. 
You are able to rent ski equipment, this is at an extra cost, and must be requested in advance of your holiday)
