Skiing Into Spring in Savoie Mont Blanc

It has been snowing over Savoie Mont Blanc, and it looks like the end of the season might be very good!

Most ski resorts in Savoie Mont Blanc are open until the end of April – some like Tignes and Val Thorens are open even later!

Spring skiing has many great advantages: it is often cheaper, less busy, sunnier and warmer which makes it an ideal time to go with young children, and the days are longer to enjoy some fun après-ski in the sun! And moreover, April is now packed with events.

Music Festival in La Clusaz, 30 March to 2 April

The Radio Meuh Circus Festival in La Clusaz, is a music festival, taking place from 30 March to 3 April. There will 3 live concerts under a chapiteau de cirque, and DJ's will play on the slopes and in the village. www.laclusaz.com

Les Arcs Spring Final, 2 to 23 April

The resort offers many activities in April: slackline, ride'n golf, beach party at the waterslide, freestyle show and concerts on the slopes. www.lesarcs.com

La Plagne Subli'cimes, 3 to 16 April

For the second year, La Plagne is taking spring skiing to a new level. Six summits over 2,000m will be transformed. Last year, there were a sandy beach, a relaxing area, a mini Lapland, a summit for adrenaline addicts, a children friendly zone and an art exhibition. www.la-plagne.com

Music contest in Avoriaz

Throughout the season, Avoriaz will be signing up young groups and DJs over the Internet to compete against each other every Friday in a live event on the piste in front of a large crowd, on two stages in the middle of the Igloo Village. Electro, rap, pop, rock: every musical style will be featured. The grand finale will take place on the weekend of 8 to 10 April 2016.

The line-up will be revealed on with live updates and social media voting throughout the season.

Concert de Printemps in Châtel, 23 April

Chico & The Gypsies will be playing their Latin Pop music at the bottom of the slopes on Saturday 23 April. The legendary group is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is launching a new album.

Val Thorens Apotheoses Days, 30 April to 2 May

Holidaymakers, locals and season workers share three days of skiing, partying, entertainment, shows and activities, including the waterslide and the “bungee ejection”.
