Kathryn was determined to find hotels, ski chalets and luxury villas which were not just feigning to be child-friendly but truly welcomed each member of the family and catered to them equally ensuring a relaxing stress free holiday for the whole family.

Chalet Chopine, Meribel

Chalet Chopine is a beautiful luxury child-friendly chalet, which has been carefully designed with style and taste. The fabulous alpine interior, features gorgeous fabrics and bespoke furniture. Chalet Chopine is located in the private Dou du Pont area, just a couple of minutes’ drive to or from the chaudanne lifts, or you might like to choose an off piste route and ski to the door? A short walk takes you to the centre of the resort, ideal for shopping, or for those who want to sample the local bars and nightlife.

 

There is a cosy 'home cinema' perfect for adults and children alike to hide away with a selection of the latest films, your spa area boasts a sauna, hammam and a large bubbling Jacuzzi, where you can enjoy your choice of music, controlled by a floating waterproof remote and a selection of toys, sledges, games and books can all be found at Chalet Chopine for fun in the snow with the kids.

Maison Blanche et Verte, Portes du Soleil

Maison Blanche et Verte is a luxury child friendly catered ski chalet situated in the pretty traditional French village of Ch'tel, Portes du Soleil. The chalet has a commanding position high in the resort, offering breath-taking views over the village. Whether you are sitting down for dinner in the large open plan living room, relaxing in the mezzanine above or waking up in one of the six luxury en-suite bedrooms, the views of the valley and village below are magnificent. Ch'tel still operates as a farming village and is therefore open all year round and has excellent shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Tivoli Lodge, Davos Klosters

Davos's Tivoli Lodge benefits from a perfect location and offers its guests sheer unadulterated self-indulgence. Situated on the piste itself, excellently placed for ski-on ski-off, the Lodge is only a two-minute drive from the centre of the village. The exterior is traditional Swiss chalet; however, the inside is incredibly elegant, modern and luxurious. This is an ideal place for families; you can enjoy winter sports, relax in stunning surroundings, unwind in the spectacular swimming pool, partake of gastronomic delights, or simply sit and take in the sensational views.

 

For the kids there is a superb soft-play area including mini-gym and mini-ball pit, an indoor swimming pool with water jets and a fountain, books and games to suit all ages along with a children’s entertainment system and children’s films. For those travelling with babies the chalet is fully equipped with high chairs,cots,sterilisers,3 wheel prams, bouncy chairs etc. allowing you to fly without those bulky accessories. Chalet Pearl, Courchevel 1850

Chalet Pearl is a fabulous, luxurious chalet constructed of old timber and local stone and has an enviable combination where fantastic location meets jaw-dropping views. The chalet is situated in the middle of the Nogentil area, in Belle Cote and has just undergone a €1,000,000 renovation. Above the centre of Courchevel, it’s within easy reach of the action, but it also has far-reaching vistas across the Dent du Villard and is only 50m from the piste.

 

For the children when not skiing there is a cinema with projector screen, a playroom with Play station, X-Box, Nintendo Wii and popcorn machine, board games and DVD and DVDs available on request.  For the adults this chalet has a fabulous spa and fitness area, hammam, TV and music system and massage bed. There is a large swimming pool with loungers by the side to relax in and a steam room.

 

The chalet has seven en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests in extreme luxury and includes a large master bedroom suite with Jacuzzi tub.

Chalet Perdu, Les Gets

Luxury, child-friendly, Chalet Perdu is situated in the heart of the fairy tale village of Les Gets and yet it lies hidden from view overlooking the Chavannes piste. Chalet Perdu offers uninterrupted views and is set in fabulous grounds ensuring privacy and tranquillity but with all the advantages of a central location.

 

A balcony wraps around the chalet on three sides and has some of the most stunning views in Europe. Sunset or sunrise is an eruption of colour at either end of the valley and here you will witness the true Portes Du Soleil.

Chalet Prarion, Les Houches

Chalet Prarion is set in private grounds on the edge of the Aillouds blue piste; situated in the luxury ski resort of Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley. Chalet Prarion has thought of everything to make your luxury family ski holiday as fun, relaxing and memorable as possible.

 

The chalet’s very own children’s entertainer will assist as required with preparing the children for crèche or ski school and can provide a drop-off and collection service between 8:00am and 10:00am and 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Between 4.30pm and 6.30pm children’s entertainment is included either in the Games Room or in the chalet garden.

 

The chalet can offer a separate sitting for children from 6pm with a 2 course menu specially tailored to the age group in mind. If you prefer your children to eat with you this can be easily accommodated, just let the chalet know in advance your preferences before you arrive.

Infinity Lodge, Les Houches

Infinite traditional charm and contemporary luxury; the Savoyarde farm building dating back to the early 1800’s and renovated with great care and craftsmanship, is located in Les Houches, a picturesque village 5 minutes from the pistes and 10 minutes from the centre of Chamonix and less than one hour from Annecy, Geneva and the Italian Aosta Valley. The charming, luxlodge is perfect for an unforgettable ski holiday with family and friends. There is 500sqm of living space over 3 levels. The upper floor houses the main living area with a double height living and dining area and a lovely log fireplace, as well as the open plan kitchen. Full length windows give the house a light and spacious feel and bring the beautiful surrounding mountain peaks and the Chamonix countryside right in to the lodge.

 

The lower basement houses a children’s play area and TV room and the chalet can arrange private childcare and local children’s club – you just need to ask. There are sledges and a large garden for building snowmen.

Chalet Grande Corniche, Les Gets 
Grande Corniche is a fabulous new luxury chalet offering the utmost in style and technology. Located in the beautiful resort of Les Gets in the vast "Portes de Soleil" ski area, you are a mere hour’s drive from Geneva airport. The chalet is just a short drive away from the ski lifts and charming resort centre in your chauffeur driven 4x4. Chalet Montana offers extraordinary levels of luxury at the heart of the high altitude resort of Val d'Isere. It has arguably the prime spot in the exclusive enclave of Les Carats, located on the piste giving ski in and out access. However it is only a few minutes’ drive from the resort centre in your private chauffeured 4x4.

 

In the morning before you ski you can enjoy a pilates or yoga class to ensure your limbs are warmed up and ready to enjoy a fabulous days skiing. For when you get back from skiing if required there is a ski room with heated glove warmers and heated boot warmers – to make sure all is toast and warm for the next day. After a swim in the indoor pool you and your guests will be invited for canapés and aperitifs around the chalet’s grand piano before taking a seat for the evening meal prepared by your private chef.
