Skal International Worldwide President launches Australian tour with Skal Sydney Members
President Mok Singh's Australian tour commenced with a lunch meeting in Sydney at the Harbourview Hotel North Sydney on 20 March 2013.
President Mok re-affirmed the importance of Skal becoming more relevant to the plethora of up-and-coming travel industry executives who are keen to grow their businesses. "Through our leadership we seek to maximize networking opportunities for our Members and create a responsible tourism industry", states President Singh.
President Mok gave an exciting talk on where Skal is heading and how it plans to maintain a strong tread of consistency, continuity and be a responsible and recognised entity in world tourism. Mok Singh announced that the permanent Secretary-General of Skal, Bernard Wegscheider, is now responsible for representing the organisation on key global tourism forums and bodies such as that of UNESCO. "With Skal's 20,000 Members worldwide, the majority of which are the leaders of tourism businesses globally, Skal requires a lasting voice in global tourism policy to ensure a truly responsible tourism industry. Our permanent Secretary-‐General offers such a strong voice", Mok Singh stated.
Why did Skal International's Worldwide President Mok Singh venture down under as one of his first major overseas trips since being elected late last year? "The fact is that with 1,100 Skal Members throughout Australia we are the third strongest membership base worldwide", comments Russell Butler, Skal International's Australian President.
This week's Sydney meeting was attended by Senior Commercial Officer Australia & New Zealand - Joe Kaesshaefer, Skal International General Secretary - Bernard Wegscheider, Honorary World President and Honorary Skal International Sydney member - Max Kingston, Skal International Australia President - Russell Butler, plus a great attendees from Skal local Members.
