Sir Stamford at Circular Quay has scooped the pool by winning not only the prestigious Australian Hotels Association (New South Wales) Awards of Excellence as the best deluxe hotel but also being named as having the best restaurant in New South Wales.
The elegant Sir Stamford at Circular Quay was also highly commended in the Best Bar Presentation and Service category.
Sir Stamford at Circular Quay General Manager Mark Woolf commended staff for their part in the luxury hotels wins.
Mr Woolf said the management team had agreed on the re-positioning of the property 15 months ago and the staff have all worked diligently over the last 12 months to achieve these goals.
The awards were made as members of Sydneys accommodation hotel industry gathered to celebrate the AHA Awards for Excellence in Sydney. VIP guests included State Tourism Minister, the Hon., Sandra Nori MLA, Shadow Tourism Minister, the Hon. Ian Armstrong, OBE, M.P, the former NSW Opposition leader Kerry Chikarovksi, and Tourism NSW Chief Executive, Tony Thirlwell.
The Deluxe Hotel of the Year award was hotly contested with a wide range of leading five star hotels vying for this major accolade.
Mr Nigel Corne, the chairman of the AHA (NSW) Accommodation Division said the Awards recognise excellence in accommodation, service and food throughout NSW.
We congratulate the management and staff at Sir Stamford at Circular Quay for their inaugural win in our prestigious deluxe hotel of the year category, Mr Corne said.
Sir Stamford at Circular Quays The Dining Room also defeated an extremely strong field, to become the winner of the AHA (New South Wales) award for Best Restaurant.
