Jumping pillows and swimming pools are at the top of family wish lists, with resort-style holiday parks sweeping Signature Media's 2017 Top 10 Readers' Choice Awards. The state and territory winners have been revealed in the 2018 Caravan and Camping with Kids magazine, out now.

Over the past 12 months, thousands of votes have been cast in the annual awards, with BIG4 Holiday Parks claiming the majority of top spots. In Victoria, BIG4 Inverloch Holiday Park has grabbed first place, with eco glamping tents proving popular with families new to camping. In South Australia, BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park has come in at number one, while BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park is the favourite in the Northern Territory and BIG4 St Helens Holiday Park the best in Tasmania.

The 2017 awards has also seen North Star Holiday Resort & Caravan Park, in New South Wales, once again nab prime position, largely thanks to facilities such as Sammy's Adventure Lagoon and 4.5-star villas. It's also been another winning year for Tallebudgera Creek Tourist, which is no surprise given the park's proximity to water play and the Gold Coast's theme parks.

Proving popular in Western Australia is Mandalay Holiday Resort and Tourist Park, which has heated pools and four adventure playgrounds.

Competition was tough, with more holiday parks adding glamping, resort-style facilities and water parks to their offerings. Caravan and Camping with Kids editor Jennifer Ennion says one look at these holiday parks and it's easy to see why they're a favourite with readers.

"With fantastic kids' clubs, stylish safari tents and upgraded cabins, holiday parks right around Australia have stepped up their offerings and are now competing with the best family friendly hotels," Ms Ennion says.

"Take BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, for example. It's come in at number three in Queensland and is easily one of the best places to stay in the country," she says.

"It's a popular choice for families largely thanks to a fantastic new water park featuring 13 water slides that toddlers, as well as teens, can enjoy."
