Visitors will be able to let their imagination fly away with them during October Half Term Holidays, 22nd – 30th October, as Birdland Park & Gardens celebrates 'Shriek Week' with a special Halloween Myths & Legends theme.

Discover where the legend of the phoenix came from and find out which bird's call the Romans believed meant imminent death, in a series of daily fun talks at the renowned Bourton-on-the-Water attraction.  

Pick up a Pumpkin Hunt Trail on arrival and search the park for clues to uncover the secret phrase, plus look out for extra pumpkin enriched play and snacks for the feathered residents in selected enclosures.

As well as penguins, flamingos, parrots, owls and snakes, Birdland is also home to a section of dinosaurs!

Journey back even further in time, more than 65 million years ago and embark on a fascinating expedition in the Jurassic Journey section. Explorers can venture into a Jurassic-themed landscape which is home to more than 30 different dinosaurs. Find Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Postosuchus, Velociraptors and more in the trail.

The Jurassic Journey trail is also a fascinating reminder that today's bird species are directly descended from dinosaurs. Other species to look out for are the spectacular flying Pteranodon, Allosaurus, and the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex. 

Birdland cares for more than 500 birds, ranging from the UK's only breeding colony of king penguins and awesome birds of prey to parrots, cassowaries and cranes in a mix of free-flying and aviary displays.
