Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau Seeks Applicants for "Eat Here" Culinary Media Tour

“Eat Here” tour will explore unique eateries, farms, breweries and more in Northwest Louisiana, September 22-25, 2016

SHREVEPORT, LA – The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is seeking six to eight qualified journalists to take part in an upcoming media familiarization trip, Sept. 22-25, 2016. Entitled “Eat Here: A Food Lover's Guide to Shreveport-Bossier,” the tour is a companion piece to a new brochure of the same name that was released on May 1. Six to eight journalists will be invited to take part in this tour, which will visit local restaurants, farms, breweries and other food and drink-related sites over the course of three busy days and nights. In order to develop a better understanding of Shreveport-Bossier's unique regional identity, tour participants will meet chefs, brewers, restaurateurs and food lovers whose work is informed by the broader cultural identity of the community.

Costs of travel, accommodations and meals will be covered for all journalists who are invited to take part in this tour. Participating journalists will arrive on Thursday, Sept. 22 and depart on Sunday, Sept. 25. In an effort to make this tour as effective and enjoyable as possible, a maximum of eight journalists will be invited to participate. The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is especially interested in identifying food writers, bloggers, photographers and content creators with a focused interest in regional Southern food and foodways. Please note that this tour will not focus on fine dining.

To apply for this media tour, complete the application form at www.shreveport-bossier.org/media.
