This Friday Show & Stay, providers of London theatre breaks, is donating £20 to Shelter with every booking. Shelter is a charity helping homeless people up and down the UK, and Show & Stay are helping them as part of Festive Freebies, a promotion running until the 16th December.

At the same time the Show & Stay team are holding a collection for Porchlight, another homeless charity helping people in and around Kent. Staff have been asked to donate food as well as small items that would make a welcome Christmas present. So far the collection box is filling up with tins, toiletries and toys.

The staff at Show & Stay are passionate about helping charitable causes and regularly help charities in their spare time. On Sunday 1st December Team Charity member Kelly Burren braved the cold to complete a half marathon for the National Osteoporosis Society, a charity helping people with Osteoporosis. Kelly completed the half marathon in 2 hours, 17 minutes and raised just under £350 for this worthwhile cause.

Kelly said: "I am proud to be a part of team charity inside and out of work. The charities we support are close to our hearts — we like to raise awareness of the charities along with raising money to help them."

As Christmas approaches, the Show and Stay staff will hold a raffle and decorate a Christmas tree for the MS Butterfly appeal. Staff will personalise baubles and donate £1 for each hung on the tree. Through the MS Butterfly Appeal, the Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre (MSTC)  are hoping to be able to build a new therapy centre at their existing site.

Karen Middlemiss, Centre Manager at the Kent MSTC, said: “The prefab we’re working in was only meant to last 15 years – we’re up to 28 now! It’s done a great job but is just not fit for purpose anymore, and that is starting to affect our members."

Show & Stay's next charitable act sees staff wearing their stylish Christmas jumpers on Friday the 13th December in aid of Save the Children.
