The three most powerful retail destinations on the Las Vegas Strip - Fashion Show, The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Shoppes at The Palazzo - have combined shopping, dining and entertainment offerings to delight visitors of all ages from around the world.
In addition to offering one of the most comprehensive retail collections, Fashion Show literally brings fashion to life. Each weekend, runway fashion shows take place on the center's runway in the Great Hall, a state-of-the-art special event venue that has been utilized by top designers including Alexander McQueen, Roberto Cavalli, Zac Posen, Donald Pliner, Red Carter and Perry Ellis.
Three days a week, seven times a day, an eighty foot retractable runway and stage rise out of the floor for instant runway shows. Above the runway are three LED screens with advanced lighting features that drop from the ceiling to create a multi-dimensional experience. State-of-the-art sound and special effect capabilities, such as snow and fog machines, further enhance the multi-sensory nature of this unique facility.
According to Sharon James, vice president of marketing for the western region of General Growth Properties, shoppers can sense something exciting is about to happen when the music is pulsing, lights are flashing, video is playing and the runway and stage box rise. "More than 1,000 shows and events are produced in the Great Hall each year. It's an experience found at no other shopping center in the world."
At The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, visitors are delighted by "Streetmosphere" performances presented by an international roster of classically trained singers, actors and musicians who bring the cobblestone walkways of Venice to life. Daily performances in St. Mark's Square add an unexpected element of entertainment to visitor's shopping and dining experience and further embellish the center's unique, vibrant atmosphere. The Living Statues amaze guests with their immovable poses, while Artiste del Arte, a troupe of talented musicians, wander the center's cobbled streets, serenading guests beneath a colorful alfresco sky.
After a full day of shopping, visitors can relax, take in the beautiful Venetian architecture and enjoy a true one-of-a-kind experience floating down the Grand Canal in an Italian gondola while being serenaded by a friendly singing gondolier. The quarter-mile-long canal that winds throughout the shopping center also features a separate outdoor, open-air ride that culminates with a view of the Las Vegas Strip.
