Sheraton Xiamen Hotel Does G.O.O.D. In the Community

Sheraton Xiamen Hotel

On September 16, Sheraton Xiamen Hotels General Manager Mr. Nick Porter, Deputy General Manager Ms. Susan Liu, together with the hotels Executive Committee Members and key department heads paid a visit to the Xiamen Municipal Welfare Home, a residential shelter for widowed elders and handicapped orphans, to hold a Sheraton Xiamen Does G.O.O.D. In the Community activity, to mark the first-ever Global Out-Of-Office Day (G.O.O.D.), initiated by Sheraton and Starwood Hotels & Resorts on September 16th, 2008.

G.O.O.D. is a worldwide event with activities taking place in all cities around the world where there are Sheraton hotels and resorts, to showcase the brands new Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft, a unique lobby lounge that creates a sense of community and offers travelers a convenient on-line experience and instant access to information for work, leisure and social networking. For the day, Sheraton recreated virtual Links in outdoor venues around the globe including New York Citys famed Central Park, Shanghai, Sydney, Toronto and San Diego. To kick-off Global Out-of-Office-Day Starwood CEO Frits van Paasschen officially opened Central Park for business at its virtual Link@Sheraton with a remote ringing of the New York Stock Exchange opening bell at the park.

Link@ Sheraton will be installed in Sheraton Xiamen Hotel in early October, however the hotel team celebrated the day by working out of the office and doing G.O.O.D. in the local community through the visit to the Xiamen Municipal Welfare Home, where they presented a donation of basic essentials such as blankets, milk, dried food and fruit to a total of 250 widowed elders in conjunction with the forthcoming Elders Day.
