Sheraton Sanya Resort�s Malaysian Executive Chef Teow Cheng Yee is once again given the task to look after the food requirements of the Miss World 2005 contestants. Now on its third year in Sheraton Sanya, �the Home of Miss World�, Chef Teow meticulously designs menu that caters to the various tastes of the contestants.

Chef Teow says �It is important to look after the diet of each of the contestants as they may have specific food requirements. Miss Nepal Sugarika K.C. and Miss Switzerland Lauriane Gillieron are both vegetarians. We have to make a special vegetarian menu to suit their needs and they are very appreciative of this attention that we are providing them.�

This year, Chef Teow is surprised that a lot of the contestants are requesting for Chinese Food compared to the past two years when they liked Western Food more. He stated, �The contestants seemed to be more adventurous and open when it comes to tastes. They seem to want to grasp all of what China is all about including the food and I am very pleased to be providing this experience to them.�

In a span of one week, Chef Teow already has a list of some of the Miss World 2005 contestants� favorite food items which include: 1600 kg of honey melons, 1200 kg of watermelons, 60kg of chocolate cakes, 36 kg of black forest cakes, 28 kg of fruits cakes, 60kg of spaghetti, 50 kg of penne, 24kg of French breads, 155kg of cucumbers and 120kg of tomatoes.

It is also noteworthy that the Miss World 2005 contestants love ice cream which they consumed 30kg in just one dinner.

Chef Teow is a part of Sheraton Sanya Resort�s management team who are making sure that the Miss World contestants provided with �a home away from home� while vying for the much coveted Miss World 2005 throne.
