Ms Boston added, "In launching the Sheraton Macao Hotel's Oktoberfest, we are creating a great social gathering place for families, friends and work colleagues, to come together and share the most authentic Bavarian experience without making a trip to Germany."
Breaking Guinness World Records™ for Most people opening bottles in a relay
The atmosphere at Sheraton Macao Hotel's Oktoberfest was extremely convivial tonight with numerous world records challengers and guests participating in this spectacular challenge. The 455 participants wearing Sheraton Macao Hotel T-shirts in 10 different colors were poised at the designated challenge zone and opened the Paulaner Beer bottles in the order as directed by Guinness World Records adjudicator from Beijing. The atmosphere and guests' emotions reached a crescendo when the 455th participant opened his bottle successfully. Guinness World Records adjudicator immediately presented the certificate to Mr. Manuel Gonçalves Pires Júnior, Deputy Director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Sheraton Macao Hotel's General Manager of Sales & Marketing Ms. Ruth Boston and General Manager of Operations Mr. Kai Petry, to officially recognized Sheraton Macao Hotel has broken the previous Guinness World Records for Most people opening bottles in a relay which was achieved by 398 participants in Ningbo in May this year.
Sheraton Macao Hotel's Oktoberfest
Apart from successfully breaking Guinness World Records for Most people opening bottles in a relay, Sheraton Macao Hotel offers all the quintessential elements of any Oktoberfest including authentic German beer, Bavarian culinary delights, live music entertainment and carnival games. The hotel has partnered with Paulaner, a renowned German brewery which was established in 1634 in Munich, to serve authentic German beer at the festival. Every year, there are more than 13 million liters of Paulaner Oktoberfestbier sold internationally, so guests at Sheraton Macao Hotel enjoying the hotel's Oktoberfest can be part of the worldwide festival revelers soaking up genuine German brews without making a trip to Munich. With an admission fee of MOP100, guests can receive a complimentary 0.5L glass of Paulaner beer that is brewed in Munich and delivered to the hotel specially for the event.
The ideal accompaniment to Oktoberfest beer is traditional German cuisine, and Sheraton Macao Hotel has flown in Chef Sven Roffmann from Sheraton Munich Arabellapark, who will dish-up a wide range of Oktoberfest favourites such as bratwursts, hand-rolled pretzels, pork knuckles and many more. The highlight of the event is the 40m by 15m Festhalle tent, with Sheraton Macao Hotel associates dressed in Dirndl outfits (traditional Bavarian dresses). This autumn at Sheraton Macao Hotel, guests can definitely immerse themselves in a real Oktoberfest celebration - Bavarian style.
The guarantee for great fun does not end with the authentic German food and beer. The authenticity of the Sheraton Macao Hotel's Oktoberfest is enhanced by the musical entertainment provided by Toni's Beerband (led by Anton Hammerer), flown in from Bavaria specially for this occasion, they will lead guests in traditional Oktoberfest sing-a-longs and Polka dances throughout the evening, ensuring everyone has a good time.
To top off all this revelry, each night 3 lucky guests will have a chance to win a comprehensive package comprising accommodation for two in a Deluxe Room, a 60-minute relaxing spa experience at Shine Spa for Sheraton and a Food & Beverage voucher worth MOP500.
