L Hotels & Resorts

Award winning hospitality brand The Shanti Collection and L Hotel Seminyak are proud to be a sponsor for the rst Conservation Conference held at The Green School Bali.

Prominent World Renowned conservationist, scientist and environmentalist Dr Jane Goodall will be the keynote speaker during the weekend presentation alongside Saturday's Plastik Tidak Fantastik Festival where a series of lectures and panel discussions on environment conservation are shared.

“We want to support this movement as the Shanti collection and L Hotel Seminyak group are strong advocators in promoting the conservation of local traditions and environment including lending as much contribution as a good cause to the Green School's children's education scholarship program and outreach.” Says Budiman Widjaja, General Manager and Corporate Social Responsibility Activist.

All proceeds raised during the weekend conference will go to support the Jane Goodall Institute, its educational program Roots & Shoots and the Green School Local Scholar Program, which funds local students who would not otherwise be able to a ord a Green School education. The Green School Bali was opened in 2008 September, founded by John and Cynthia Hardy to create a new paradigm for learning for children to cultivate physical sensibilities that will enable them to adapt and be capable in the world. Their aim was to nurture children to develop spiritual awareness and emotional intuition, and to encourage them to be in awe of life's possibilities.”

The Shanti Collection and L Hotel Seminyak has a Shanti Foundation, set up last December 2013 to give back to Society, with the main aim to raise funds for less privilege children and to nurture education and talent amongst children who have a keen thirst for learning.

Last December 21st, The Young Inspiring Balinese Artists Program was rst launched in conjunction with a Scholarship Program by L Hotels & Resorts and The Shanti Collection. The Charity occasion of “ Live Life & Let's Give” theme resulted in 100 underprivileged children being invited to the hotel to enjoy fun activities alongside sta members and their families.

At the same time, in December 2013, the Group launched the “Heart of Giving” stay package in conjunction with the East Bali Poverty Project ( EBPP ) to help thousands of impoverished children and communities to help themselves towards a future of sustainable social and economic development in Eastern Bali by setting aside a 10 percent of the Hotel's guests bill and donated it to EBPP.

Recently in early May 1-3, 2014 the Group collaborated with the Bali Pink Ribbon to sponsor 200 snack boxes for Balinese women who turned up for free breast screening in three di erent locations Gedung Wanita Santi Graha, Jalan Sudirman and Denpasar in Bali.

Most recently 27-29 May 2014, The Shanti Art Exhibition took place in the award winning Shanti Residence in Nusa Dua to showcase the works of young and inspiring Balinese artists. As many as 30 paintings and 10 sculptures by students of Sukawati Art School (SMK Negeri 1 Sukawati) were displayed at The Shanti Residence, Nusa Dua during this exclusive 3 days event. Invited guests attending the o icial ceremony were entertained by a traditional dance performed by children from the Taman Permata Orphanage. A panel of expert judges evaluate the paintings on display to select the 3 best pieces.

With Bali's landscape evolving and with modernisation taking place, we certainly continue to search for charitable causes and opportunities to support.
