Setting a Benchmark For Luxury Boutique Accommodation in Bath, MUSE Bath is Unveiled

YTL Hotels

March 2014, City of Bath, UK- YTL Hotels' exclusive MUSE portfolio of luxury accommodation has now expanded to include the luxurious Bath Townhouse, a 500-year old, five-storey, Grade 2 listed Georgian building located in the heart of the UNESCO heritage City of Bath.

Tucked down a quiet cobblestone street, the townhouse is but a stone's throw away from Bath's renowned treasures; The Pump Room, Roman Baths and Bath Abbey are a two-minute stroll away, while Bath Townhouse's magnificent sister properties –The Gainsborough Bath Spa and the Thermae Bath Spa are just across the street.

Despite its proximity to these architectural splendours, stepping into the private entrance of MUSE Bath Townhouse is akin to disappearing through the looking glass into one's exclusive retreat. The reception room is reminiscent of an English period garden in which Jane Austen sat, with wrought iron furniture presenting an informal dining space, and artwork depicting lush flower arrangements and foliage.

Stepping through the short passage, the modern kitchen equipped with the latest amenities will please the avid cook, while its pastel pink SMEG fridge standing out against the earth tones of wood, marble and slate make a winning first impression.

Wending one's way up on thickly carpeted stairs, the attention-to-detail is evident in the flowing, handmade lace curtains that flutter from small windows set deep in the stairwell, taking guests through to the second floor. Here, a cosy, yet elegant living room awaits. Guests may unwind watching the state-of-the-art, flatscreen Bang & Olufsen television, perusing the small but well-selected library of books or simply indulging in an aperitif to some classical jazz before stepping out to explore Bath's culinary offerings.

On the third floor, the Master Bedroom presides with its silken canopied-bed and plush embroidered cushions. A majestic chandelier sparkles overhead, casting light on the stunningly dressed windows and silk-lined walls. By the fireplace, the brushed copper bathtub offers a touch of olden-day luxury, juxtaposed against the sumptuous textures of blues, greys and whites which dominate the room. Wall-to-wall marble, the 'wet-room' walk-in shower and twin vanities of the master bathroom takes the experience of bathing to a whole new level.

Ascending to the next floor, the single room offers a cosy nook, while on the fifth floor, the Queen Bedroom presents a more feminine cocoon of pinks, lilacs and creams.  In total, Bath Townhouse promises five adults a divine sleep enveloped in crisp Egyptian cotton sheets.

Every inch of the residence is lovingly and tastefully appointed. From the antique Victorian wrought iron chairs and handpicked pieces of original art, to the fine bone china and Christian Lacroix curtains.

The magnificent touches continue in the largely organic full breakfast that is stocked into the SMEG daily; whether the preference is fresh fruit, yoghurt and speciality breads, or farm fresh eggs and bacon, all are ready for guests to start their day with at their leisure.

The concierge service is also on hand to take care of every little detail, be it booking a private chef, arranging a horse-drawn carriage and gourmet picnic basket, making reservations at the theatre, crafting a bespoke tour around the World Heritage City or even organising a custom spa day at The Gainsborough Bath Spa.

As with all MUSE properties, Bath Townhouse provides an escape where the ultimate luxury of this very private getaway is that it is situated in an exclusive locale, the very heart of the UNESCO heritage city. The experience here is interwoven with unique properties of the culture of the land in which it resides, be it architecture, literature, history, gastronomy or the people itself.  Service is accessible, yet unobtrusive, and how little or how much guests decide to partake in is the choice of the guests themselves.

Rates begin at £1500 per night, for a minimum of two nights, inclusive of daily breakfast, a selection premium drinks on the drinks tray, daily newspaper and turndown service. For more information please contact bath@muse-hotels.com.
