Discover Costa Rica's Curiously Cryptic Wildlife
On a small group tour with the BBC's Dr GEORGE McGAVIN
Reef & Rainforest invites fans of BBC TV's popular entomologist George McGavin, on a small group trip into the wilds of Costa Rica in search of the Little Eleven: eleven of the most amazing invertebrates on the planet.
Having filled his group for November 2017 in only four weeks, Dr GEORGE McGAVIN will be accompanying a second group departing on 27 February 2018 and following the same exciting two-week itinerary. Lucky guests will visit the Caribbean lowland rainforest, pre-montane rainforest, and the true wet Pacific rainforest of Corcovado National Park staying in good lodges.
The group will be led by our local expert biologist guide, Gabriela Almengor, a specialist in Central American arthropods, and George will give talks and slide shows at various locations throughout the trip.
George, Gabriela and the group will seek out the Little Eleven, which consists of these fascinating creatures: Net-casting spider, Headlamp click beetle, Hercules beetle, Morpho butterfly, Lichen katydid, Rainbow grasshopper, Peanut bug, Leaf-cutter ant, Orizaba silkmoth, Harlequin beetle and the Helicopter damselfly. Of course, besides the bugs there'll be nearly 900 bird species to find and plenty of mammals, reptiles and amphibians, including many species of poison dart frogs.
Currently the guide price is: £6299, Single Supplement guide price: £750, but those will change once 2018 fares and rates are known. To include direct flights with BA ex-Gatwick (subject to availability). Maximum: 12 / Minimum: 8 guests.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the first group's popularity is anything to go by, those interested are well advised to book early as this one will surely sell out fast.
