It has been revealed that over the last 100 years the average height of European men has grown by 11cm. But that’s nothing compared to Robert Wadlow – at more than 2.7 metres he is the tallest man on record to ever exist. See how you measure up to the man himself at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London.
The capital’s most wonderfully weird attraction celebrates the life of Robert P. Wadlow. A statue of Wadlow welcomes visitors at the entrance and in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London café area visitors can compare their height as they stand tall with the lofty lad.
Once you have measured up to Wadlow, see how many of your friends and family it takes to equal the weight of Earl Hughes, who during his lifetime was the heaviest recorded man in history, tipping the scales at 485kg – that’s more than four times the weight of heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Continuing the celebration of extraordinary humans, marvel at ‘the man with the iron tongue’, who could lift more than 47kg with just his tongue, or H.C. Harris who was able to play the harmonica and whistle at the same time. Take a look at Ching Woo, the man that was born with a blue face, or Liu Chung who was born with two pupils in each eye.
