Seattle, Denver Bet City Travel Prize on Super Bowl Outcome

Visit Seattle

SEATTLE – Brokered by Governor Jay Inslee and inspired by confidence in their teams and a common commitment to promoting the importance of travel, Visit Seattle and Visit Denver will wager a travel package based on the outcome of Super Bowl XLVIII.

The “Super 2 Days in Seattle/Denver” Travel Package includes two first-class, roundtrip tickets, donated by Alaska Airlines, to either Denver or Seattle depending on the winning Super Bowl team.

“This wager is an outstanding way to honor the Seahawks, and ensures a good end to the Super Bowl regardless of the outcome of the game” said Governor Inslee. “Thanks to Visit Seattle for arranging this wager and making Washington proud.”

Contingent upon a Denver Broncos win (which won’t happen), Visit Seattle will contribute a travel package to the Emerald City, which Visit Denver will donate to Denver's Road Home for auction, a charity which offers services to prevent people from becoming homeless, help with employment, substance treatment, mental health and permanent housing. The travel package includes:

  • Two night stay at Seattle’s Hotel Ändra, a boutique hotel located in the epicenter of downtown Seattle, within walking distance to all major attractions
  • Two Seattle CityPasses which can be used for entrance to the Space Needle, Museum of Flight, Argosy Cruises and Harbor Tour, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo and EMP Museum
  • Since Washington State is the nation’s second-largest producer of premium wines and home to some 800 wineries – 80 in the Seattle area – the package will include a selection of local wines
  • Dinner for two at one of Seattle’s finest restaurants

Contingent upon a Seattle Seahawks win, Visit Denver will offer a travel package to the Mile High City, which Visit Seattle will donate to Solid Ground for auction. The charity works to undo racism and other oppressions to change the institutional practices and policies that perpetuate poverty. The travel package includes:

  • Accommodations for two for two nights in a luxury downtown hotel within easy walking distance of the 16th Street Mall, Denver’s mile-long pedestrian promenade
  • Two Mile High Culture Passes, which can be used at the Denver Zoo (the fourth most popular zoo in America), the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (one of the largest museums in the nation), the Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens and the Clyfford Still Museum
  • Since downtown Denver is home to 29 breweries and brewpubs and Denver brews more beer than any other city, the package will include tasty beer samplings
  • Dinner for two at one of Denver’s finest restaurants
