From May 25 2019 until Jan 12 2020 Sands Hotel Margate will be offering a 'Turner Seaside Snap' package to celebrate two major exhibitions at the Turner Contemporary Margate: its first-ever photographic exhibition (appropriately entitled 'Seaside: Photographed') as well as its first hosting of the prestigious Turner Prize.

A 'Turner Seaside Snap' package will cost from £175pp and include 2 nights B&B and one cream tea, a 3-hour lesson with a local snapper on how to capture the best seaside photographs, plus a Turner Contemporary exhibition guide. Further info: 01843 228228; sandshotelmargate.co.uk).

'Seaside: Photographed' (May 25 – September 8) will be Turner Contemporary's first photography exhibition and will examine the relationship between photographers, photography and the British seaside from the 1850s to the present as seen through the acute, critical and engaged visions of 70 photographers from the UK, USA and Europe.  www.turnercontemporary.org

Following the exhibition, from September 28 2019 to Jan 12 2020, the Turner Contemporary and Margate will then embark on an ambitious arts programme to coincide with the gallery's hosting of the Turner Prize 2019, one of the best-known prizes for contemporary arts in the world.

The Sands regularly features among the Sunday Times Top Ten UK Seaside Hotels and pioneered the transformation of Margate when it first opened its doors in 2014.  A double room with breakfast can be booked from £130 per night.
