Scenic Offers Free Air on its 11- and 12-day 2016 Bordeaux Sailings – And Plenty of France
Boston & Vancouver, August 2015 – Scenic's new corporate branding focuses on the moments of wonder we all experience from time to time. Especially when we come across those gems while on vacations and taking in the many sites the world has to offer. That focus is readily apparent in Scenic's 11- and 12-day Bordeaux cruises for 2016. Mixing the romance of the region with a wealth of historical riches and its world-renown wines and foods, Scenic has built itineraries that allow for those moments of wonder. So whether it is the charms of Cadillac, Cognac and Médoc, among others; the scenic beauty of the Gironde, Dordogne and Garonne rivers; or the range of Scenic opportunities that sets the line apart from its competitors, Scenic has not doubt its guests will capture several moments of wonder along the way. And Scenic rewards those who plan ahead with free international air from dozens of major US and Canada gateways if the cruise is booked by October 31, 2015. This applies to all categories of accommodation. Fares range from $5,095US/$6,030CAN to $8,890US/$10,160CAN per person, double.
The two itineraries are identical excepting an overnight Paris hotel stay on the 12-day version. So after a wonderful day exploring the City of Love (Paris) and an evening reception at the Paris Westin Hotel, guests depart the following morning on the ultra-fast Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV) for Bordeaux and their home aboard the Scenic Diamond. At this point, guests unpack their bags just once … but they'll visit countless fascinating and photogenic locations throughout their journey. Highlights of the next 10 days include Cadillac, originally established in the 13th century; Saint-Émilion, home to underground catacombs at its iconic Monolithic Church; Libourne, the wine-making capital of this part of France; Cognac, where guests have the opportunity to sample brandy at the famed Rémy Martin property; Médoc, where visitors traverse a scenic wine route; and Arcachon, known for its culinary delights.
This itinerary incorporates several special features that are unique to Scenic. The company's new “Scenic Sundowners” concept has guests enjoying an afternoon at the estate of Château Soutard in picturesque Saint-Émilion while sipping a glass of wine from its Grand Cru vintage. The “Scenic Enrich” experience, a once-in-a-lifetime event unique to this cruise line, takes guests to a private dinner and classical concert in the beautiful Château Giscours in the Médoc countryside. Other excursions include numerous walking tours and wine tastings, a tour of Charlemagne's Roquetaillade Castle with the family in residence, a visit to the Terres d'Oiseaux nature park with its 100 species of birds, a 19-mile cycling adventure along Captain's Road near Bourg, and a shop with the chef opportunity in Bordeaux.
Scenic has the newest fleet of ships on European rivers, and offers some of the largest suites on the rivers they sail. Additionally, Scenic's signature all-inclusive luxury means that absolutely everything is included: personalized service with a 3:1 guest to staff ratio, butler service and unlimited complimentary beverages, full-size private balcony suites with exclusive Scenic Sun Lounges which allows guests to convert the balcony from open air to a sealed sun lounge with a press of a button, a choice of six dining options that include dégustation at Table La Rive, fine dining at L'Amour and more casual fare at River Café, all gratuities, expert local guides, and all Scenic Freechoice activities and Scenic Enrichspecial events.
