Cruise Whitsundays has opened up it's Great Barrier Reef pontoon to weddings and events, at a gala launch event held at the reef.
The permanently moored 'Reefworld' pontoon is 40 nautical miles from the Whitsunday Coast mainland, at Hardy Reef, just near world famous 'Heart Reef'.
Chief Executive Officer Nick Hortle said he anticipated the pontoon becoming one of Australia's most sought after event venues.
“This location redefines the words 'unique event venue' and I am sure Brides (and event planners) around Australia will be inspired by this truly spectacular location,” Mr Hortle said.
“The Great Barrier Reef is a world renowned icon, a stunning maze of coral reefs amongst bright azure seas, and there couldn't be a more perfect backdrop for an event – blue is the new white for weddings!” he said.
Wedding and event packages include private charter of one of Cruise Whitsundays comfortable and modern cruising catamarans for guests to travel to and from the reef, exclusive use of the 'Reefworld II' pontoon at Hardy Reef and a range of seated and standing set ups for meals, cocktail receptions or corporate events.
Wedding packages also include a romantic night for the Bridal couple at 'Reefsleep' – sleeping overnight in a private Honeymoon Suite on the pontoon including a candlelight dinner surrounded by fish in the underwater observatory.
Bookings are now open for 2014 and 2015 weddings and events, visit www.cruisewhitsundays.com/groups.aspx or contact weddings@cruisewhitsundays.com
