#SaxonyTravelDreams: Online hub for virtual travel and post-corona inspiration

TMGS Tourismus Marketing Gesellschaft Sachsen mbH

We might not be able to travel at the moment but we can dream of it”: Saxony Tourism Marketing has launched a new English-language website to provide stay-at-home travellers with virtual experiences and inspiring content about the region known for the baroque city of Dresden, world-class museums and the dramatic scenery of Saxon Switzerland's sandstone mountains.

The www.saxonytraveldreams.com website is part of an international cross-media campaign to engage users in key source markets such as the UK. Under the main headlines “Towns and Cities”, “Palaces and Castles”, “Music” and “UNESCO World Heritage”, videos and virtual content introduce users to sights, attractions and the region's people as well as provide insights into typical traditions around food and handicraft or Saxony's famous steam trains. Virtual panorama tours enable viewing the world-class art of Dresden State Art Collections while online concerts of top orchestras such as Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig and “organ greetings” from Dresden's stunning Church of Our Lady showcase the region's rich musical history. Dedicated video content on some of Saxony's most stunning scenery in Saxon Switzerland, the Ore Mountains and Zittau Mountains focuses on hiking and exploring the great outdoors.

The platform also provides updates on current developments regarding COVID-19 in Saxony with links to key English-language information sites and allows free online ordering of brochures on specific travel themes.
