Sandra Shevey, London Street Market Walks, stuffs herself on cockney grub at many of London`s surviving markets. Her favourites include jeelied eels, pie and mash, bangers and mash, cottage pie and fish and chips.
Sandra`s too young to remember when oysters used to sell on London`s street corners for a dime (ten pence) a dozen. But she thinks she`s got on to the next best thing.
Sandra Shevey, London Street Market Walks, is looking for a co-publishing deal with an advance against 50% royalty on a book about London`s cockney markets.
The `cockney market cookbook` will profile 20 of Sandra`s favourite old London markets. Each profile will be interspersed with a traditional recipe from one of the local cafes or stalls in the market.
The cookbook is endorsed by London Street Market Walks whose aim is to support street market sustainability.
