Sailing Is A Breeze On Murcia's Mar Menor

Turismo de la Región de Murcia

For holidaymakers looking to enjoy one of the nation's favourite pastimes, the Region of Murcia is the perfect destination to indulge in a sun-soaked sailing break this summer.

The calm and shallow waters of the Mar Menor, Europe's largest salt-water lagoon, make it an internationally-renowned destination for a wide selection of watersports including sailing, windsurfing and kayaking.

Hotel Cavanna, which includes the Cavanna Wind Sailing School, is located just metres from the Mar Menor and offers a range of packages to suit both beginners and experienced sailors, with three-day tuition packages available from €165 (approx £134) per adult and €98 (approx £80) for children under 13.

In addition, dinghies and catamarans can be hired without tuition from as little as €28 (approx £23) for two hours.

Visitors may also wish to try their hand at windsurfing, with three-day tuition packages start from €107 (approx £87) for adults and €98 (approx. £80) for youngsters.

The four-star Hotel Cavanna boasts large indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a Spa offering a range of rejuvenating beauty treatments and relaxing massages. Guests can enjoy full-board breaks from €36.85 (approx £30) per night, per person – with discounts available for children under 13.

For the perfect evening, guests may wish to take advantage of the numerous restaurants scattered along the La Manga Strip. There is always a friendly buzz in the restaurants and the sociable atmosphere is complemented by an almost endless choice of tapas – modern interpretations of traditional dishes can be shared between friends and family.

The Estación Náutica Mar Menor - Cabo de Palos (Mar Menor - Cabo de Palos Sea Sports Resorts) offers a series of nautical, sports and tourist attractions, together with accommodation and other services in the area.
