With the much touted arrival of Turner from the Tate: The Making of a Master at the National Gallery of Australia on 1 June 2013, Novotel Canberra is proud to announce that it is the official accommodation partner of the exhibition and will be offering guests a Cultural Getaway package to celebrate.

From just $189 per night, travellers to the capital will enjoy overnight accommodation in a standard room, buffet breakfast for two people in One Restaurant and two untimed tickets to see Turner from the Tate which will be on show until 8 September 2013.

For those that want to upgrade to the Winter Escape package, for $265 per night enjoy overnight accommodation in an Executive King room, buffet breakfast for two in One Restaurant, two untimed tickets to the exhibition, plus a $50 food and beverage voucher.

J. M. W. Turner (1775-1851) is one of Britain's greatest artists and a key figure of the Romantic period. Turner from the Tate: The Making of a Master includes many of the artist's most famous paintings and provides a comprehensive overview of Turner's monumental landscapes and atmospheric, light-filled seascapes, while offering extraordinary insights into his working life and practices.

The exhibition includes 110 works, including 40 oil paintings and 70 works on paper and will convey how Turner established himself as a master of the European landscape tradition. It offers fresh perspectives on an artist who was valued as a master in his own time and whose impact was felt as far away as Australia.

In honour of Turner from the Tate, Executive Chef of Novotel Canberra's One Restaurant, Steven Fraser, has put together a new English-themed winter menu featuring some of his favourite meals from his upbringing in England. Some of the standout dishes include the homemade pork pie and the gourmet mint, rosemary and lamb sausages with creamed potato, onion rings and thyme jus. Having cooked for George Bush, Her Majesty the Queen and His Holiness the Dalai Lama before, Steven has been in Australia for 11 years and has led One Restaurant to be one of the best hotel restaurants in the capital.

Novotel Canberra offers premium 4.5 star hotel, offering modern and comfortable rooms and public areas, outstanding leisure facilities including an indoor pool, spa and sauna, and an excellent bar and restaurant. Located in the heart of the city, Novotel Canberra provides easy access to all the city's attractions.

The Cultural Getaway and Winter Escape packages are available until 8 September 2013.
