Safari Consultants, the specialists in safaris across eastern and southern Africa, has launched a fortnight long 'Focus on Botswana' which will see exciting new videos, expert interviews streamed on a dedicated channel - http://safari-consultants.com/on-safari/focusonbotswana - showcasing the different topics of interest and exploring the fast country's geography, history, culture, wildlife and conservation.
Through a series of exclusive interviews and articles the UK's oldest independent African tour operator, with over 30 year's experience, hopes to show perspective clients a rounded picture of the nation, explain the regions and the best time to visit and inspire travel. This will include the country's stability, security and incredible natural resources the combination of which make it a truly stand out destination. Also, the next four months (June – September) are the very best months of the year to experience the Okavango Delta in flood.
A Botswana safari offers miles of pristine African wilderness, the premier region being the famous Okavango Delta, a game-rich region of waterways, lagoons, floodplains and open woodland, explorable by vehicle, horse-back, elephant-back, mokoro, motor-boat or on foot. The north boasts the Moremi Game Reserve (part of the Okavango), Linyanti region and Chobe National Park. To the south, where the waters rarely reach, the landscape changes into Kalahari scrub grassland, a vegetated desert , punctuated by the vast Makgadikgadi salt pans and the occasional village.
Online features across the fortnight include:
- Video interviews with experts including:
- Author Brian Jackman shares his views on conservation in Botswana
- Sir Alan Haselhurst M.P. (Chairman of the UK Commonwealth Parliamentary Association) explains theCommonwealth's role in Africa, the legacy of the past, current challenges, and hopes for the future
