So Tom Cheaper And Easier From May 2005

Destination Portugal

TAP Air Portugals new schedule now means travellers can get to Lisbon on a Friday evening (from Heathrow or Gatwick) to catch the just after midnight flight to Sao Tome arriving early morning Saturday. The return flight leaves Saturday morning early and comes back to Lisbon but stopping at Sal in the Cape Verde Islands to arrive in time for the late flight back to London. This means that the hitherto obligatory overnight stay in Lisbon is no longer required.

Destination Portugal (01993-773269, www.africanislands.co.uk), who have forever offered merely Portugal, are now the first UK Operator to offer So Tome & Principe in a new brochure featuring ex-Portuguese Colonies around Africa.

Holidays include a 7 day experience staying 2 nights in a 4* Hotel in the crumbling City, 2 nights in historic (particularly the plumbing!) Plantation Houses with an 8 hours jungle trek between, then 3 nights to recover in the luxurious Pestana Equador Resort Hotel on the Ilheu das Rolas for 1162 per person between May and October 2005 including flights (via Lisbon ), all transfers and 2 dinners.

This is a backward Country on the verge of opening up to tourism. Now is the time to enjoy the remains of Portuguese Colonial culture, the bitterest of bitter hand made chocolate, warm seas, SCUBA diving and fresh fish.
