Rydges Parramatta Rising Star Proves 'West is Best' at NSW's TAA Awards for Excellence

Rydges Parramatta's Duty Manager Matthew Guy's willingness to learn and commitment to always delivering the ultimate guest experience saw him awarded the salubrious title of Hotel Industry Rising Star at the prestigious NSW Tourism Accommodation Australia Awards for Excellence.  

The TAA (NSW) Awards for Excellence are recognised as some of the most prestigious hospitality awards and honour high achievement in the accommodation industry.

Matthew's award comes on the back of winning the title 'Employee of the year for 2013' proving he's one to watch out for in future. His ability to remain calm under pressure and willingness to take on additional responsibility has even seen Matthew left in sole charge of the busy Parramatta Hotel's Front House team. 

“Matthew's commitment to the hotel and its success is evident in the way he carries himself at work, in all his dealings with colleagues and in particular in his dealings with guests” said Simon Cox, General Manager of Rydges Parramatta "He is an inspiration to the entire hotel team." 

In addition to exemplary performance in his role as Duty Manager, Matthew leads the hotel's 'Green Globe Initiative', setting and implementing an Earth Check programme to achieve the hotel's Environmental & Socials Sustainability policy.

Consistently seeking opportunities to expand his industry knowledge and experience saw Matthew identified from a large field of contenders as one who sets the benchmark for performance in the hotel accommodation industry.
