Ramblers Worldwide Holidays new 'Load Off Your Back' programme - which offers a range of exciting self-guided and flexible walking tours for independent travellers around Britain and Ireland - is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Alfred Wainwright's iconic 'Coast to Coast Walk' from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire.

 

This 200 mile walk provides the opportunity to tackle the whole route in five sections of 6, 7, 14, 15 and 17 walking days covering 8-21 miles a day.  One can walk from inn to inn staying at B&B's, guest houses and small hotels en route with a comprehensive written guide including maps and local knowledge. Baggage being transported leaving one to carry only what one needs each day. 

 

Option 1 - 6 days walking from St Bees to Kirkby Stephen via Ennerdale Bridge; Borrowdale; Grasmere; Patterdale and Shap. 

 

Option 2 - 7 days walking from Kirkby Stephen to Robin Hood's Bay via Keld; Reeth; Richmond; Ingleby Cross; Clay Bank and Glaisdale / Grosmont.

 

Option 3 - 14 days walking 'Wainwright's Way' from St Bees to Robin Hood 's Bay via Ennerdale Bridge; Borrowdale; Grasmere; Patterdale; Shap; Kirkby Stephen; Keld; Reeth; Richmond; Ingleby Cross; Clay Bank Top; Blakey Ridge and Glaisdale / Grosmont.

 

Option 4 - 15 days walking from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay via Ennerdale Bridge; Borrowdale; Grasmere; Patterdale; Bampton; Orton; Kirkby Stephen; Keld; Reeth; Richmond; Danby Wiske; Ingleby Cross; Blakey Ridge and Gaisdale.

 

Option 5 - 17 days walking from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay as option 4 to Ingleby Cross then Clay Bank Top; Blakey Ridge; Glaisdale and High Hawsker.

 

Prices from £459 per person includes guide book, maps, half-board accommodation and baggage transfer during the walk.
