Earlier this year, Royal Caribbean International announced that they would host the world's first Instagram film festival.* But the cruise line has more surprises in store - now announcing the all-important judging panel of the competition. Lauren Bath, Pauly Vella (both of whom are amongst the most prolific Australian photographers on Instagram), Tim Charody (travel documentary maker) and David Farrier (New Zealand pop culture journalist and personality) have been appointed to choose the winners of this unique competition. Each person on the panel of judges has been chosen to be involved in the competition because of their unique skills. Bath and Vella are Instagram photography gurus - they know just what it takes and how to create images that gets almost 20,000 likes on Instagram. Farrier's quirky, irreverent and humorous approach to sharing trends has earned him an avid Instagram following. And Charody has made travel documentaries on pretty much every continent on earth and has been testing his limits capturing wow moments for over six years. Plus, each of the judges has an innate passion for travel. This combination will enable them to spot the very best WOW moments from Royal Caribbean's local Instagram community.
Adam Armstrong, Commercial Director, said: "Royal Caribbean is thrilled to be hosting the world's first Instagram film festival and now we can reveal the judging panel. Royal Caribbean is delighted to be working with Lauren Bath, Pauly Vella, Tim Charody and David Farrier on this world first event. These judges are experts in their fields. They each lend us their very special knowledge of both technical photography and film making, and also their insights into the Instagram platform, not to mention their passion for travel. All of these components will contribute to their decision of who deserves to win the amazing prizes that are on offer. We can't wait for even more WOW moments to be shared by our guests and the Instagram community via the hashtag #InstaFilmFest."
