Royal Toast 23 Jul 2013
Royal Baby Cocktail

The Langham, London

World's best bar - Artesian at The Langham, London - creates commemorative cocktail to toast the Royal birth.

Opened in 1865 as Europe’s first ‘Grand Hotel’, The Langham, London boasted Royal connections from the outset, as HRH The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) presided over the official opening.

The Langham’s tradition for innovation continues and to celebrate the momentous occasion of the birth of HRH Prince of Cambridge, International Bartender of The Year Alex Kratena has created a Champagne cocktail for those wishing to raise a glass to toast the new Royal arrival. Kratena combines Tapatio tequila, cedar wood syrup, lemon juice and Peychaud’s bitters with Ruinart blanc de blancs to create an aromatic and light blend that is served in a coupe enveloped in scented blue crepe paper.

The ‘Royal Toast’ cocktail is priced at £16.50 and is served until 22nd August 2013.

Artesian has received numerous accolades in the last two years. This year, Kratena received ‘Bar Personality of the Year Award’ by Imbibe Magazine and in 2012 Artesian was awarded the ‘Best European Bar’ trophy at Cocktails and Spirit Awards, Paris as well as scooping ‘World’s Best Hotel Bar’ award at the prestigious Spirited Awards 2012, Tales of Cocktail, New Orleans and was voted ‘The World’s Best Bar’ by Drinks International Magazine.

With its name inspired by the 365 foot deep well under the hotel which originally supplied all the fresh water for the guests, Artesian is the glamorous David-Collins designed bar that has become watering hole and social hub for chic Londoners.
