Rosalie Bay Resort Named a "Top Resort" in the Caribbean and the World

Rosalie Bay Resort, Dominica

In the just-released 2013 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, Rosalie Bay has been named among the Top 25 Resorts in the Caribbean and among the Top 100 Hotels & Resorts in the World.

The eco-boutique resort on the southeast coast is the only hotel or resort on Dominica to be honored in this year’s awards. In its debut on the prestigious list, Rosalie Bay ranked No. 2 in the Caribbean region with an overall score of 95.1.

In describing Rosalie Bay Resort, the editors at Condé Nast Traveler magazine states, “Built as a labor of love, this 28-room eco-enterprise is a master microcosm of Dominica: 22 acres of verdant grounds (frangipani, ginger lily, heliconia, and hibiscus) and a hotel blessedly free of pretension.” Rosalie Bay’s environmental efforts also caught their attention, with the magazine adding, “Controlling its environmental footprint, the resort uses wind turbine, solar panels, on-site water filtration, and Adirondack chairs made from recycled plastic. From March through October, guests can help monitor turtles nesting on the beach.”

“We’re extremely grateful by the outpouring of support from our guests and the island community,” says Rosalie Bay Resort owner Beverly Deikel. “It is truly an honor to be included with such an esteemed group of properties from around the world and to represent the Nature Island.”

“This award recognizes the hard work and dedication of our Dominican staff who strive to deliver genuine hospitality to our guests,” she adds.

The 26th annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are a result of the travel magazine’s survey ranking the best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels and resorts in the world. A record-breaking 79,268 readers participated in this year’s survey casting 1.3 million votes for 16,000 properties around the world. Resorts are rated based upon several categories: rooms, service, food, location, design and activities. The 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards are available online at www.cntraveler.com and in the November 2013 issue of the magazine, which is on newsstands now.
