Room with a Boo: Ghoulish Getaway at Westin Portland Harborview

Westin Portland Harborview

Portland, Maine – (October 6, 2015) If your candy begging days are behind you, but October just seems incomplete without a little trick or treat, the Westin Portland Harborview has conjured up a Paranormal Portland package for grown up ghouls and boils that will leave even the coolest cats quaking.

The two night package starts at $174 and includes a standard guest room with a boo for two adults, a hotel history tour and ghost hunt, a devilishly delicious amenity and trick or treat turndown service.

Devil's Delight – The demon himself points the way to a wicked fun weekend that starts off with finger food and a creepy cocktail crafted from the creative juices of the hotel's Top of the East bar staff.

Ghost Hunt – Using an infrared light detector and electromagnetic field (EMF) measuring equipment, guests, escorted by professional amateur ghost hunters, will explore the bowels and hidden hallways of the Westin.  Built in 1927 and once the largest convention center in New England, the former Eastland Park Hotel is a bubbling over with history and the walls can, and sometimes do, talk, if you know where to listen.  The tour will include a peek inside the hotel's original boiler; similar to the model that was used on the Titanic.  Linguistic experts and OSHA historians believe the term “dead end job” originated with the employees who shoveled coal into the fiery beast.

“We're dead serious about our guests' well-being, and let's face it, there's nothing like a shiver running down your spine to kick up your heart rate and make you feel truly alive,” said Susan Barry, director of sales and marketing for the Westin Portland Harborview.  “I can't put my finger on it – but there's something special in the air this time of year.”

The Room with a Boo package is available October 16 through November 15, with special surprises expected during the full moon on October 27 the new moon on November 11 and Friday the 13th.   For additional information please call 207-775-5411 or visit www.westinportlandharborview.com.
