Ring in the Year of the Rooster with Michelin-Starred Cuisine at The Langham, Hong Kong

Three Michelin Star T'ang Court presents health conscious menus and conventional puddings for the Lunar New Year

(Hong Kong, 07 December 2016) – Welcoming the Year of the Rooster, celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year occasion with Three Michelin Star T'ang Court's nutritious menu and signature puddings located at The Langham, Hong Kong hotel.

As one of only four Cantonese restaurants in the world to receive Three Michelin Stars, T'ang Court's Executive Chef – Chinese Cuisine Kwong Wai Keung and his culinary team headline the Chinese Lunar New Year menu with the barbary wolfberry fruit. Otherwise known as goji berry, this ingredient was chosen due to its health benefits and lucky red colour to wish every guest good fortune in the coming year. The antioxidant-rich fruit is full of beta-carotene and essential amino acids, as well as carry cancer-fighting effects. Often used in traditional Chinese medicine, the fruit is used to improve eyesight, strengthen the liver, and invigorate the kidneys.

A dish to highlight on the menu is the Double Boiled Sea Whelk and Fish Maw with Chicken, Ham and Dried Barbary Wolfberry Fruit Soup, complete with collagen and protein to promote youthful-looking skin. Guests who wish for a life of prosperity should indulge in the Steamed Sliced Garoupa Head and Brisket with Dried Barbary Wolfberry Fruit and Tangerine Peel. Containing an abundant amount of protein and a low calorie count, the garoupa fish symbolises the meaning of excessive or surplus. The Sautéed Prawns with Asparagus, Walnuts, and Red and Yellow Bell Peppers is a perfect option for guests who are visual eaters. The range of multihued colours on the plate represents the ancient auspicious meaning of “wealth comes when flower blooms".

Additionally, T'ang Court has meticulously created specialty dim sum selections, including Steamed Dried Red Date Cake Topped with Dried Barbary Wolfberry Fruit made with homemade red date puree, as well as the Stewed Diced Abalone with Fish Maw and Asparagus Dumplings.

The exclusive Chinese Lunar New Year menu will be offered during the first to the seventh day of the lunar calendar from 28 January to 3 February 2017. Dim sum selections will be served during the lunch period only.

Perfect for gifting, the New Year would not be complete without T'ang Court's legendary homemade puddings. These prosperous desserts bring good luck, while satisfying sweet and salty cravings. The festive flavours include the classic New Year Pudding, the sought-after Turnip Pudding with preserved meat and the Taro Pudding filled with conpoy and dried shrimp -– all crafted with only the finest ingredients to share with family and friends and usher in a fruitful year.
