Revitalised Rendezvous to Capture MICE Market

TFE Hotels

The Rendezvous Hospitality Group (RHG) has signalled its commitment to the MICE market with a multi-million dollar refurbishment injection, the creation of a new Director of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events role and the introduction of a dedicated meetings stream on the website www.rendezvoushotels/meetings.

RHG will showcase its plans for growth and brand rejuvenation in key destinations throughout the Asia Pacific Region at Stand #2810 at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo 2012 (AIME) 21st - 22nd February 2012.  It will also unveil its initiatives and facilities designed to meet the needs of the MICE market.

CEO, Eric Teng will join Director of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events, Richard Dodds at the event.  Mr Dodds brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having come from a senior position at the largest conference facility in New Zealand, SKYCITY at Auckland Convention Centre and also with the Copenhagen Convention & Visitors Bureau prior to that.

"The Conference and Meetings sector is a core market for RHG and to this end, we are continually evolving our hotel facilities to ensure they meet the needs of our customers," Mr Teng said.

"We are committed to growing this area of business and to make RHG the business traveller's hotel of choice," he added.

RHG has launched a dedicated meetings portal on its website www.rendezvoushotels.com/meetings to assist the MICE market and provide easy access to information about all hotels within the Group. The site has exceeded expectations generating more than $3 million new meeting enquiries within 10 weeks of its launch.

Mr Dodds said the dedicated site underlines RHG's commitment to the MICE market and reflects its intention to continually meet the needs of the sector.

"This dedicated website has been introduced because 84% of enquiries are now done via online channels and this new vehicle fulfils the needs of the time-poor conference booker who needs accurate venue decisions quickly," Mr Dodds said.

Late last year, RHG revealed the "One Rendezvous" brand vision and since that time, Rendezvous Hospitality Group has been realigning its hotel portfolio for a big year of change and development across the Asia-Pacific region.

"We have big plans in the next few years and we are looking forward to strengthening our market presence in Asia-Pacific," Mr Teng said.

"The hotel refurbishments, appointment of Mr Dodds mid last year and the dedicated meetings website stream is an integral step in recognising our commitment to the high-yield meetings and events segments," said Mr Teng.
