REVAMPED, LUXE, NAUTICALLY INSPIRED GUEST ROOMS FOR HARBOURSIDE RETREAT
Hyatt Regency Sydney, Australia's largest hotel, has undergone a major revamp upgrading three quarters of the property's rooms and suites.
The hotel launched under the Hyatt Regency brand in December 2016, following a $250 million dollar redevelopment, which included a new 24-story tower, open-air sky bar Zephyr, a Regency Club Lounge and 3,700 square meters of state of the art meeting and event spaces. The recent multi-million dollar refresh of 649 rooms and 17 suites in the property's original building is the final stage of its transformation to elevate this 5-star property and deliver a sleek, dynamic precinct where guests can relax, meet, engage and recharge.
Designed by Bates Smart, the new interiors draw on Hyatt Regency Sydney's harbourside location with a fresh nautically inspired palette, to create a luxe décor with rich Phillip Jeffries custom vinyl Amalfi Silk, sleek Italian-made joinery and rounded mirrors reminiscent of cabin portholes.
Led by owner M&L Hospitality, the refurbishment was undertaken by Bates Smart as a continuity of the styles found in key public spaces throughout the hotel including the lobby, award winning Zephyr Sky Bar and the premium Regency Club, also conceptualised by the top design firm.

Whilst fresh, modern interiors are prominent, there are subtle nods to the historical landmarks of the hotel's location with black and white photography of recognisable Sydney waterfront settings on display. The contrast of modern and bygone times is part of the hotel's DNA, with the hotel's beautiful sandstone heritage buildings adding old world character, while the luxe modern upgrades and exemplary service deliver an exceptional experience for all guests.
