The festival takes holidaymakers on a journey to explore cocoa plantations, meet with artisan chocolate makers and of course includes plenty of opportunities to sample the delicious locally produced chocolate.
Highlights of the festival include learning about the fascinating history of cocoa and chocolate, watching the chocolate making process from tree to bar and tasting chocolate with specialists from around the world. There are lots of hands-on experiences such as making a chocolate face mask, creating art using recycled chocolate wrappers, a chocolate yoga meditation and grinding cocoa Aztec style.
Holidaymakers can choose to join individual activities, days or the whole event. Prices start from EC$30 for individual activities to ED$180 for a full day (approx. £8-£48).
Some activities are free for guests of the True Blue Bay Boutique Resort (www.truebluebay.com), the main host hotel for the event.
Tropic Breeze (www.tropicbreeze.co.uk, tel: 01752 880880) offers 11 nights at True Blue Bay from £2345 per person, based on two adults sharing a room on an all inclusive basis, including return flights with Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow. Priced for travel on 19 July.
