Ten years after its founding, REMOTE Latin America announces the launch of REMOTE Expedition, a new, highly curated event format designed to elevate meaningful connections and immersive destination discovery within the high-end experiential and responsible travel sector.
Since its inception, REMOTE Latin America has brought together travel professionals from around the world who are most passionate about the region through its itinerant event, REMOTE Immersion — an experience designed not only to foster business opportunities, but also to create lasting human connections while uncovering the remote, lesser-known destinations that reflect the richness and diversity of Latin America.
Now, as the organization celebrates its tenth anniversary, it introduces REMOTE Expedition, a more intimate and immersive gathering designed for industry professionals who value depth over scale, thoughtful curation, and experiential travel.
“Ten years ago, we created REMOTE with the belief that meaningful relationships are the foundation of transformative travel,” says Roberto Bitelman, Founder and Director of REMOTE Latin America. “With REMOTE Expedition, we are returning to that essence in its purest form. We wanted to design something even more focused and intentional. In a world where travel is moving faster than ever, we believe there is power in slowing down, going deeper, and gathering in authentic places. REMOTE Expedition is our way of honoring ten years of innovation while shaping the next decade of purposeful connections and business across Latin America.”
A new chapter: depth, discovery, and intention
REMOTE Expedition will bring together approximately 25 region-specialized exhibitors and 25 carefully selected high-end travel advisors focused on tailor-made, small-scale journeys.
More than a traditional trade show, REMOTE Expedition invites participants to step fully into a destination, exploring its landscapes, cultures, and narratives with openness, curiosity, and a shared commitment to shaping the future of tourism in the region. True to its name, the event centers on discovering a single country in depth through two key components:
- Pre-Expedition Trips, offering curated journeys across multiple regions
- REMOTE Expedition Encounter, a three-day gathering combining one-on-one meetings, immersive destination experiences, strategic discussions, and meaningful networking
The intentionally small format enables the event to take place in extraordinary settings — destinations so remote and special that they can host only a gathering carefully designed with purpose.
Peru to host the first REMOTE Expedition (October 23–30, 2026)
For its inaugural edition, REMOTE Expedition will venture into the remarkable and lesser-explored corners of Peru from October 23 to 30, 2026. Travel designers will explore five extraordinary regions through Pre-Trips carefully crafted by local exhibitors and partners:
- Nasca and Paracas
- Cusco to Colca Canyon
- Lake Titicaca and Tinajani Canyon
- Chachapoyas, Amazon
- Huascarán National Park, Huaraz
The experience will culminate in the Colca Valley, home to one of the world's deepest canyons and a landscape shaped by centuries of living Andean culture. It is here that participants will gather for the REMOTE Expedition Encounter, set against a backdrop of dramatic scenery, traditional communities, and profound cultural heritage.
PROMPERÚ: Our Host Destination
The inaugural edition of REMOTE Expedition will be hosted in partnership with PROMPERÚ, Peru's Commission for the Promotion of Export and Tourism. Peru offers extraordinary geographic and cultural diversity, stretching from the Pacific coast to the Andes and the Amazon. Ancient civilizations, contemporary creativity, and one of the world's most celebrated culinary scenes coexist in powerful harmony, positioning Peru as one of Latin America's most compelling destinations for high-end, experience-driven travel.
Participants will journey through regions where desert geoglyphs meet wildlife-rich coastlines, Inca heritage unfolds across dramatic Andean landscapes, high-altitude cultures thrive beside surreal stone formations, and glaciers and turquoise lakes define the peaks of the Cordillera Blanca.
PROMPERÚ is pleased to support the inaugural edition of REMOTE Expedition in Peru, an initiative that will allow international travel advisors to experience the diversity, authenticity, and cultural richness of our destinations. Through this event, Peru reaffirms its position as a leading destination for high-end, experience-driven travel in Latin America.
In recent years, PROMPERÚ has strengthened its strategy to attract high-profile international events, contributing to Peru's positioning as a leading MICE destination in the region.

A Decade of Purpose, A Future of Intention
As REMOTE Latin America marks ten years of connecting the region's most distinctive destinations with the global travel community, the organization continues to evolve while remaining grounded in the values that have defined it from the start: meaningful relationships, a celebration of Latin America, and a deep respect for people and place.
While REMOTE Expedition reflects this spirit in a new, more intimate format, the organization's flagship gathering, REMOTE Immersion, remains at the heart of its mission. Since its first edition in 2016 in the Brazilian Amazon, REMOTE Immersion has traveled to remarkable settings including Chilean Patagonia; Las Catalinas, Costa Rica; Barichara, Colombia; Cafayate, Argentina; Cuenca, Ecuador; Puyehue, Chile; Antigua Guatemala; Chapada dos Veadeiros, Brazil; and Boquete, Panama — each destination chosen for its authenticity, community, and commitment to responsible tourism.
