Turismo de la Región de Murcia

Scuba-diving enthusiasts are being invited to get in the swim this summer and discover the many underwater delights in the Region of Murcia – one of the premier diving areas in the Mediterranean.

The Murcia coastline in south-east Spain boasts a wealth of amazing marine life, underwater landscapes and historical shipwrecks to explore in some of the country's most acclaimed dive sites including Cabo de Palos – one of the best scuba areas in Europe.

Cabo de Palos is located in a privileged setting on the open sea and features numerous species of marine life while, to the north-west, a series of fabulous reefs and historical wreck sites have earned Hormigas Islands an excellent reputation among the diving community.

Some of the region's best dive sites can be found by the port of Águilas, set amidst majestic cliffs and beautiful Sandy beaches, these sites are well protected from the weather which means there is always a sheltered spot for diving.

The Region of Murcia also has plenty for novice divers to enjoy with La Azohia the perfect place for beginners to experience easy, enjoyable and safe diving. And La Azohia is also a renowned spot for whale watching – something that shouldn't be missed when visiting the region.

And complementing the range of dive options are an array of other sports and leisure activities including a wide selection of watersports on the calm and shallow waters of the Mar Menor – Europe's largest salt-water lagoon.

Situated on La Manga del Mar Menor in San Javier, the Pierre & Vacances La Manga beach apartments provide the ideal base for a beach and watersports break, with a seven-night break in a two-bedroom apartment for up to six people available for just £749.
