Region of Murcia Beginner Sailing Breaks Puts Wind in the Sails of Ben Ainslie Wannabes

Turismo de la Región de Murcia

Olympic legend Sir Ben Ainslie will launch Britain's bid for a first-ever victory in the America's Cup next month, and budding sailors keen to experience yachting for themselves can do so by heading to the sunshine Region of Murcia this summer.

While Ainslie – the most successful sailor in Olympic history – will be leading Britain's quest to win sailing's most famous trophy, holidaymakers can take to the water in south-east Spain – with five-night beginner sailing breaks available from €854 per person. (approx £620)

Enjoying an annual 320 days' sunshine a year with average summer temperatures of 29⁰, the Region of Murcia offers the perfect location for a sailing holiday, with the beautiful and serene coastline making it an internationally-renowned destination for a wide selection of watersports.

Bookable from July 5 to September 9, the eye-catching 'Introduction to Sailing' packages are based at the Juan Montiel Marina in Aguilas, with bed-and breakfast accommodation provided opposite at the four-star Hotel Puerto Juan Montiel.

Prices include one two-hour introductory lesson in sailing and windsurfing and kayak hire for two hours, plus one game of padel tennis and mini-golf.

Free use of the hotel's swimming pool and fitness facilities are also included in the packages – which are based on two people sharing a room – as well as airport transfers to and from Murcia or Alicante airports.
