Red, White and BOOM Celebration at LEGOLAND California

LEGOLAND California

LEGOLAND California serves up a star-spangled Fourth of July celebration this summer with fun activities for the entire family. Festivities include a red, white and blue firework extravaganza and interactive American Flag model-building events.

The park hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 4th. The entertainment staff at the 128-acre theme park designed and developed the amazing firework show, which incorporates a custom soundtrack of patriotic music, simulcast live on Authentic Rock KPRI - FM 102.1 and punctuated with strategically timed pyrotechnics. Guests are given special souvenir fireworks glasses, which turn every dot, dash and twinkle of light into a cascade of shimmering rainbow colors. The firework show begins when the park closes.

The stirring firework tribute will light the night skies over LEGOLAND Californias Miniland USA, where a 1:20 scale Washington D.C., New York City, California Coastline, New Orleans, Florida and New England are depicted in astonishing detail out of more than 20-million LEGO bricks. The six U.S. regions spotlighted will be sporting additional American flags in honor of the Nations birthday.

Earlier in the day, park guests help build a huge American flag out of 7,200 red, white and blue DUPLO bricks. The completed flag is 8-feet long, 4-feet tall and weighs more than 150 pounds. On a smaller scale, guests can purchase a special patriotic souvenir flag to be built out of LEGO elements to remember their fun-filled Fourth of July at LEGOLAND.

All day, the American spirit comes to life as patriotic tunes are played throughout the 128-acre park. For more information on the LEGOLAND theme park, event schedules, park hours and prices log onto www.LEGOLAND.com or call 760-918-LEGO.

LEGOLAND California is a 128-acre family theme park dedicated to families with children between the ages of 2 and 12. Just like with LEGO toys, kids are the ones who make things happen at the Park. They drive, pedal, squirt, climb, jump, stomp, slide, steer, pull, click, push, gallop, laugh, build and program their way through more than 50 rides and attractions. There are only three other LEGOLAND parks in the world -- LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark, LEGOLAND Windsor outside of London and LEGOLAND Deutschland near Gnzburg, Germany.
