Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris celebrates Cinema
To celebrate cinema and the opening of the 66th Cannes Film Festival, Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris hosted the Paris premiere of The Great Gasby on Wednesday May 15, showing the film in 3D on the same night it was being shown in Cannes. The cinema was packed to the rafters, with 99 VIP guests attending - a mix of French actors, TV presenters, fashion designers, media and senior executives from the luxury industry.
In keeping with this, the Long Bar has invited guests to rediscover classic cocktails that appear in famous movies. The Head Bartender has created a limited-edition cocktail paying homage to F. S. Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, called The Gatsby Rickey, with gin, lime, sugar, soda water, fresh raspberries, elderflower cordial and cucumber.
From May 15 to June 27 included, Raffles art gallery Art District is presenting a new exhibition called Celebs, by French photographers André Rau and Xavier Martin. This photo exhibition features beautiful, intimate portraits of silver screen icons such as Lauren Bacall and David Lynch, Adrian Brody, Halle Berry, Catherine Deneuve, Jack Nicholson, Brigitte Bardot, Robert Mitchum, Sophia Lauren and many more. The two photographers are famous celebrity photographers in France. André Rau was the official photographer for the Cannes Film Festival for many years.

Raffles Grand Hotel dÁngkor welcomes French Vintage
This month, Raffles Hotel dÁngkor hosted an intimate dinner with French winery - Ch'teau Pontet-Canet. Attended by Mrs Mélanie Tesseron' the Co-Owner of Ch'teau Pontet-Canet the event was a small gathering of Who's Who in Cambodia.
Ch'teau Pontet-Canet, located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, is best known as one of the leading Grand Cru's in the region producing the characteristic deep ruby-red, crimson and sometimes almost black wines of the Médoc.
Guests were treated to a range of vintages including the Ch'teau Pontet-Canet 2009, 2000, 2004 and 1998 and the Hauts de Pontet-Canet 2006. While the focus of the evening was the wines, each was paired with a complementary course to create a feast of the senses.
