17 October 2013 – Raffles Hotels & Resorts today announced the addition of a new hotel located in Shenzhen China, the economic centre of southern China. Raffles Shenzhen will open in 2018 occupying the top floors of an 80-storey tower in the new One Shenzhen Bay development. Raffles Shenzhen will be the prestigious new address in the city for luxury and service commonly associated with Raffles hotels around the world.

Developed by Parkland Real Estate Development Co. Ltd, One Shenzhen Bay has a gross floor area of approximately 470,000 square metres and includes office space, luxury residences, high-end commercial space, and a 338-metre tall signature tower that will house Raffles Shenzhen.  The project will be a new icon and the preferred destination in the city featuring spectacular views across Shenzhen Bay.

One Shenzhen Bay features stunning design and architecture by the international firm KPF, and enjoys the best location in the Shenzhen Bay Financial Center with direct connectivity to the new Qianhai Economic Zone and Hong Kong.  Located at the Houhai Lake Park in Shenzhen Bay, One Shenzhen Bay is well positioned to benefit from the continued economic development in Shenzhen.  With the Hong Kong bridge and border crossing located just opposite One Shenzhen Bay, Raffles Shenzhen is only 30 minutes drive from Central, Hong Kong.

This signing of the Raffles Shenzhen hotel management agreement follows the successful opening of Raffles Hainan on 1 September 2013. Raffles Shenzhen will be Raffles Hotels & Resorts’ third hotel in China.
