Bintan, Indonesia (August, 2015) – Ria Bintan Golf Club is delighted to celebrate the upgrade of their award-winning Gary Player Ocean Course with Race to Ria Bintan, an exciting year-long golf tournament series featuring monthly “races” leading up to a Grand Final in July, 2016.  A world-class resort located on the northern coast of Bintan Island, Ria Bintan Golf Club is a favorite destination for golf enthusiasts from throughout Asia.  Open to all interested golfers from now through July, 2016, the Race to Ria Bintan will offer monthly opportunities to play the championship course, win fabulous prizes and qualify for the Grand Final Tournament.

Set amidst pristine white beaches, clear emerald waters and lush tropical forests, Ria Bintan Golf Club is an integrated resort that features 27-holes of world-class golfing designed by legend Gary Player.  The breathtaking 18-hole Ocean Course features smooth fairways with beautiful views of the South China Sea.  The Ocean Course has become the venue of choice for many regional golf tourneys, including the Golf Asia Challenge, Revo Coca-Cola Golf Carnival and the Ria Bintan Open.  Race to Ria Bintan is a celebration of the upgraded course which will offer an even better experience for golfers.

Race to Ria Bintan will feature 12 monthly themed golf races that lead up to the Grand Final Tournament.  The top five scorers from each of the monthly matches will automatically qualify for the Grand Final Tournament.  Each monthly match features a theme, and novelty prizes will be awarded to the players who best embody the spirit of that month's theme.  At the conclusion of each monthly match, golfers will be invited to a prize presentation luncheon where there will be novelty prizes and a Lucky Draw. The Grand Final Tournament, held in July, 2016, will feature the best of the best competing against each other for a host of fantastic prizes, including a one-year membership to the Ria Bintan Golf Club.  Golfers are encouraged to participate in as many monthly races as they'd like.

The details and themes for each month include:

• August 26, 2015: My Most Outrageous Outfit – Guests should dress from head to toe in their zaniest ensemble.  Winners include the best dressed male and female.
• September 20, 2015: Ria Bintan Goes Global – Form a group of four of the same nationality. Winners will be the group with the top score.
• October 18. 2015: Twilight Golf – Dress to scare to celebrate Halloween. Winners include the best dressed male and female.
• November 12, 2015: The New 30s – Form a group with at least one grandparent to honor Grandparents Day. Winners will be the group with the top score. The best combined score (one child, one grandparent) wins an entry into the Grand Final Tournament.
• December 13, 2015: Christmas on the Loose – Ho! Ho! Ho! Decorate yourself with holiday spirit:  Reindeer antlers, Santa hat, Christmas tree ornaments, jingle bells or whatever makes you jolly.  Winners include the best dressed male and female.
• January 20, 2016: Forever Young – Gather a group of four all in the same age range (20s, 30s, 40s, etc.)  Winners will be the group with the top score. 
• February 21, 2016: Love is in the Air – Celebrate Valentine's Day by creating a couples team. Winners will be the group with the top score. The best combined couple score wins two qualifiers for the Grand Final Tournament.
• March 16, 2016: Women Power! – In honor of International Women's Day (March 8), create a group with at least two women and get a special discount at the Asmara Spa.  Top scoring woman wins a qualifier for the Grand Final Tournament.
• April 17, 2016: We Love Superheroes – Participants should dress up as their favorite superhero.  The best dressed Superhero will win a prize.
• May 18, 2016: Multiracial Harmony – Form a group of four with at least two different races.  Best team score wins four qualifiers for the Grand Final Tournament.
• June 19, 2016: Idol Dad and Mini Me – Create a father-son or father-daughter team in honor of Father's Day. The best dressed team wins a novelty prize; the top scoring team wins one qualifier.  Fathers receive 20 percent discount at the Pro Shop.
