The Yorkshire Meatball Co., has signed a new franchise agreement, worth over £100,000 over two years, with Splendid Hospitality Group to open York's first speciality meatball restaurant at Hotel Indigo York, Walmgate which will open this summer.
Located in Walmgate's growing foodie community, the 70-cover restaurant will be the first franchise deal and the second outlet for the multi-award-winning meatball company since launching its first outlet in Harrogate in March 2014.

The Yorkshire Meatball Co. is the UK's only speciality Meatball Restaurant, leading the fight against average, tasteless meatballs. Hotel Indigo York is set to open summer 2015. The Yorkshire Meatball Co. will be open 7 days a week from 12 noon until 10pm for both local residents and guests to the hotel to enjoy.

The Yorkshire Meatball Co. is an independent restaurant located at 7 Station Bridge, Harrogate. The concept was born out of an idea between father and son duo David and Gareth Atkinson, who saw an opportunity to add some Yorkshire-centric variety to the well-established cosmopolitan tastes of Harrogate diners. Inspired by the New York casual dining scene, the family-friendly Yorkshire Meatball concept mixes heritage with chic as customers choose from a range of meat, fish, vegetarian and sweet 'Balls', all hand-rolled in-house from the tastiest, locally-sourced ingredients.
Since opening on the 1st March 2014, the restaurant has won three awards at a local, regional and national level – including 'Restaurant of the Year' in the Startups.co.uk awards.
